Every day when I go in to check my blog I check the comments page to see if anyone has left me a message, I'm so thrilled when someone does. As of late I have been getting quite a bit of action from various sources and most of that action has been spam from anonymous.
Not all people are anonymous. There have been times when I have had to make myself anonymous so I could post a comment on someones blog.
So to prove that you are not a spammer or robot I have put in place the little box that makes you have to type in the two words to leave a comment. I really, really did not want to do that but at the moment it's done.
For those who read my blog, do you mind having to type in the two words What do you do on your blog? Do you ignore it and continue without the two word verification or what?
Inquiring minds want to know!
Happy trails...
Before I used CAPTCHA word verification, I'd just not allow anonymous commenters. That's a much simpler way to stop anonymous spammers.
ReplyDeleteOff to try to figure out what silly letters they want now...can't tell if that's a C or an O, maybe it's a D...LOL!
Typing in the two word verification isn't a big deal to me...part of the hacker world we live in, I guess. We do what we gotta do to keep the idiots out. Sad but true...keep on, keepin on! Hugs to you both ! (when I just scrolled down, can't see the two words...is there a braille version I should be feeling for ? LOL
ReplyDeleteP.s. the two words showed themselves after hitting enter...they were testing me...hehe
I don't require the word verification on our blog. I just don't publish the spammers remarks.
ReplyDeleteI "moderate" all comments, I also get spam selling meds etc. Nothing posts automatically. Now I will try to figure out what letters I need to type.
